The main difference between the Channellock 86 and 87 rescue tools is their jaw design: the Model 86 has gripping jaws for prying/turning (plus cutting), while the Model 87 has narrow jaws designed purely for cutting (battery cables, soft metals) in tight spaces, though both offer spring-loaded, one-handed operation for first responders. The 86 is a versatile multi-tool, whereas the 87 focuses on efficient, precise cutting in emergencies.
